Photoshop Tutorials : Shadows and highlights (advanced tutorial)

We have earlier published a tip titled “Lightening shadows”. The problem is the same here: to deal with broader dynamics ranges in a photo. Too dark and too light areas can often dominate a photo. We’d like to see more details “under” the shadows, or repair some of the bleaching. Now we try the "mysterious" Apply Image command. This is a rather obscure option although it can come handy by a number of different editing methods, so it is suitable for multiple purposes.
