| If you apply an effect to an image, you might decide you don't want it overall. If your effect was done on a duplicate layer you could erase the part you don't want affected, and let the original show through. But once you erase it, there's no going back. That's the advantage a Layer Mask gives you. You can bring back all or just part of the effect and it's easily adjusted. | ![]() |
